Gamboa is a safe, quiet town embedded in the Soberania National Park; it is the entry point to Pipeline Road, some of the best birding in the world. We offer two options or you can book both to accommodate 10+ people.
The BirdHouse
Explore the wonders of the Panamá rainforest during a stay in our magical tropical home in Gamboa. This unique house and pool is a wonderful place to escape the hustle of Panama City, celebrate nature, and enjoy family and friends. The BirdHouse comfortably sleeps 8 people with 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths and additional sleeping spaces.

The BirdNest
The BirdNest is an original Canal Zone home in Gamboa. The house's design optimizes large screened windows and huge overhanging eves to create cool cross ventilation breezes; these architectural elements keep the house at a cool temperature without the need of A/C. The BirdNest comfortably sleeps 4 people with 2.5 baths and 3 bedrooms.

Our property in Río Mar
Río Mar is located in the San Carlos District, near the Pacific Ocean coastline. A short walk (5-10 minutes) to expansive, uncrowded beaches and surf breaks. Surfboard rentals and surf lessons are a short drive or ride over to El Palmar.
The Surf Platforms
The Río Mar Surf Platforms were constructed out of love from upcycled wood, roofing, and plumbing salvaged from the Santa House Schoolhouse (circa 1935) in the old Panama Canal Zone. Built on a hillside, the large, open platforms are connected by a simple bridge. Each platform is surrounded by a 3’ galvanized mesh railing to keep everyone safe at the edge. There is a spacious bathroom with shower, sink and toilet on each platform. Sleeps up to 9 guests.

The Beach
Our family has been coming to Río Mar since 2003. Come and disconnect, relax and enjoy our views and expansive, uncrowded beaches and surf breaks. Our Surf Platforms are a short walk (5 or 10 minutes) to two beautiful, often deserted beaches and three surf breaks. Surfboard rentals and surf lessons are a quick car ride away at Palmar Surf Camp. Please Note: surf boards are NOT included in the rental. Boards can be rented at the Surf Camp.
